During the conference, presentations were held by renowned national and international experts on the environmental, socioeconomic, commercial, regulatory, technological, nutritional and consumer criteria that currently define the global tropical tuna fishery and distinguish the Spanish fleet in a market globalized.

Regarding economic sustainability, a traditional claim of the tuna fleet was analyzed: the revision of the EU criteria for imports of fishery products from fleets that do not meet the quality standards of community fisheries.
